FAQs

Hang on, aren’t there loads of free resources to help me learn birdsong?

Yes, there are! You can hear pretty much any bird sound you want to for free online. There are apps that will help you identify calls, and excellent videos made by the BTO to separate similar species. If you’re a self-directed learner you can go a long way by getting out there with your phone and using social media to check your IDs.

Birdsong Academy is designed for those who want to learn quickly with expert guidance, in a structure that runs with the season and with a dose of conviviality. Charlie was lucky to have been taught birdsong at school as part of the Young Ornithologists Club, and would like to replicate some of that experience for others (whatever age they are).

Both the Up With the Birds sessions & the Shriek of the Week email tips are free for all.

What if I try the Birdsong Essentials course and realise it isn’t for me?

No problem. You can get all your money back in the first 30 days after the course starts if you’re not enjoying it, no quibbles.

Are there group discounts for team training? Can you organise tailored courses for specific objectives?

Yes! Please contact charlie@birdsong.academy to discuss what you’re looking for.
